!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! suffered gear failure after a hard landing in West Papua, Indonesia today. No injuries except to the 737. Will not buff out.

Hopefully the cargo made it and diesel wasn’t splashed everywhere in the cabin.

I’d digging that -200 (or maybe even a -100?) waiting for takeoff. Don’t see many of those any more. At least I don’t.

And here we have the understatement of the day: “..left the left main gear behind...”

I have to imagine that plane is a total loss. It can’t be cost effective to replace both main gears and both engines on a 30 year old airframe, can it? Never mind the likely structural damage to the airframe from hitting hard enough to tear off the left main and collapse the right main.

I have seen some pretty heroic fixes, but that one is probably toast.

Looks like a -200. It also has hush kits.
